Quick Oscars Review-

So I vastly overestimated what I could talk about the Oscars compared to what I can actually and frankly want to talk about so tomorrow there will be a Food Network comparison Podcast about how the Food Network is a channel you should be watching in general. I still think it's important to mention that the Oscars disappointed overall due to lack of humor, the amount of soap boxing as compared to previous years and general lack of creativity. It's truly a shame to say that Louis C.K. was the best part of the Oscars when there was so much potential. From Sarah Silverman's bad "improv'd" speech to the little Asian "accountants" it was just, for lack of a better word, crap. It's important to remember regardless of movies, shows or shorts, that live tv has to be entertaining and not just "edgy" or crass. The 88th Oscars was exactly that and should fade away as soon as possible.

Oscars Review

I know this is late to post but TOMORROW I will do an Oscars round up because it did provide to be some interesting TV for a variety show. It will be a podcast of me talking about what points stuck out at me and how people themselves reacted to it. I think it's worth mentioning even though it doesn't relate to shows but is instead a variety piece that I can't not cover. If some really want me to do something more with the Food Network, please leave a comment below and I will do a 2nd post as well, talking about Chopped judges.

Why You Should Watch Cutthroat Kitchen

Image
As a college student (soon to be graduate in May) a majority of my free time is spent either going out, or relaxing at home watching shows or playing video games, but both going out and staying in always have one thing in common...food. I am a sucker for it and love to find new recipes to add to my menu. Food Network helps further my interest in food by watching shows like Cutthroat Kitchen .  The host is none other than the culinary mastermind that I watched growing up after school, Alton Brown of Good Eats (available on Netflix). Alton Brown on a Halloween themed episode of Cutthroat Kitchen . Truly a terrifying evil man. Brown gives the chefs participating in the episode $25,000 each for the entire competition, their prize, but the game is just beginning. He will tell them to make a certain dish and they get sixty seconds to "shop" in the CK pantry. Then the auction part of the game begins. Competitors will spend the money to not deal with sabotages other competit...

Star Wars: The Clone Wars- Why you should watch it

In this video I highlight a few characters from the #5 show of this week's list, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. I felt like people might be turned off of it because everyone loves Star Wars in their own way and hold it to their own expectations. Over the span of 6 seasons, you can see how the people who created this show truly care about Star Wars and love it as much as any fan or superfan does. I thought rambling a bit about a few characters that I liked and were pivotal throughout the series would be a good way to showcase why this show is worthy of a watch. Between the space battles, the tension, the humor and the action this is on par if not better than a certain few Star Wars movies (prequels). It's Star Wars show through and through and if you aren't convinced please enjoy and leave a comment below.

5 Binge-Worthy Sci-Fi Shows

Image
In 2016, television shows are plentiful and the new hit show that everyone has to see in a certain genre is released but what to start with? Sci-fi combines all the elements of a drama, action and comedy all in one genre and usually have great stories that will hook anyone looking to find a show to get lost in. Here are five sci-fi shows that will do exactly that. 5. Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008-2015) Do not shrug this one off if you are a Star Wars fan because of it being a cartoon. This is not made specifically for kids, but your 10 year-old brother or sister would be able to follow along with it as well. Experience the Star Wars galaxy in the perilous period of The Clone Wars that couldn't be fit in the prequels (and wouldn't have been done as well). Watch jedi like Anakin Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka Tano aid the Grand Army of the Republic and fight against the droid army. The entire series is available on Netflix. 4. The X-Files (1993-2002, 2016)...
