A New Direction

Image
Alright after getting a job and realizing I was not happy there, I am finally back to making moves that make me happy. I quit my retail job and went BACK to the service industry by way of customer service. Also managed to get myself a girlfriend, and she is something truly spectacular, I have decided to change the blog to an all around news entertainment blog. The AD/PR/Marketing side of me is screaming at me internally how much work this is, I want to dedicate myself to this as a release.  I need to find a passion in life and maybe, just maybe, this can satisfy that immediate drive by just talking about what I found entertaining over the week in the world of sports, tv, movies, gaming and any other random source of entertainment.  While this can be overly ambitious due to how much this can cover I want to reiterate that this is merely me exploring what I enjoy writing about most and keeping what works and tossing out what doesn't. Maybe this will become something ...

Welcome Back One and All!

First off, I want to thank everyone who read this during the Spring finale season earlier this year. This is a lot easier to do when people actively show they are enjoying reading the blog and give ideas for future topics. That being said, I am gonna be starting the blog up again! Who would of thought that school being over would be so boring? Sure there are the benefits of not multi-tasking between the classes you really want to be at and doing that Gender Communications b.s. homework that you waited to do until 50 mins before class started, but being out of school for the first time for me since beginning in kindergarten, I am missing writing and being judged for it.  This summer, I figured out that I can manage a team, that I was missing out on some shows, and that I need to be doing something more meaningful for myself. I enjoyed my time off and not having to worry about something being due or and have no desire to return to academics whatsoever, but I am anxious to star...

***SPOILERS*** Game of Thrones Deaths! ***SPOILERS***

Game of Thrones is back Sunday but do you remember everyone's name that has died on the show specifically? I don't remember book characters that have died or come back or whatever either but I remember enough characters that made an impact on the overall story that are dead and gone on the show. This (long) video will recap everyone who has died in seasons 1-5 of GoT but also add some of my own speculation about characters that might be alive that are thought to be dead. This video of course has SPOILERS  about seasons 1-5 of Game of Thrones and if you don't want to know about people who died please go back from where you came. For those sticking around, this is a list of characters that I made about recurring characters that played a part on the quest to the iron throne. This does not mean it is a definitive list of most important characters but just who I think people will recognize/forget are dead come season 6. With that out of the way, enjoy and thanks for your ...

Why I Watch Game of Thrones

Image
Well it's here, season 6 of Game of Thrones is only days away and right in time for dead week/finals week (thanks HBO). I have papers galore, a test to study for and a room to pack up but I am going to make time to watch the premiere of my favorite show on television. This will be a very basic, very spoiler free post so you guys can experience it unlike what my friends had to endure when i tried to get them to watch Breaking Bad.  So why is Game of Thrones my favorite show I watch? Characters Too many names to so who everyone is, and this isn't even half of the cast. Normally, a show has maybe at most 10 really strong characters that are considered main or supporting characters that you either love to root for or love to root for their demise. GoT really goes against this generic plot as there are twenty characters pictured above and there are even more characters that have recurring roles with them like Davos, Shyreen or even Hodor! Each character brings something di...

What YOU Should Watch: Avatar: The Last Airbender

Image
This cartoon was the first "anime" type show I watched outside of Pokemon as a kid. I can't believe I forgot to write about this show in the anime week I did pre-spring break but better late than never. What really reminded me was when I was baffled a friend of mine hadn't seen this show and  I pestered him to watch just the first episode for months. After watching the first episode he was hooked and binged all 61 episodes over the course of a week and told me, "Dude why have you never told me to watch this show?" But what is Avatar? The Avatar. master of all four elements: water, earth, fire and air. Avatar: The Last Airbender  follows Aang (pictured above) also known as The Avatar, the master of all four elements. In this world, there are people who can "bend" the elements to their will. These people are called "benders" belonging to either the: Fire Nation, Air Nomads, Water Tribe, Earth Nation. 100 years before the events of t...

Future of the Blog/Why TV?

What a semester it has been so far and let me say, it has been a pleasure. Right now we are in a lul for shows as some spring finales have already happened and Game of Thrones premiering the 24th (not 17th as I say in my video) so that will be my last blog post of the semester before I take a break trying to get a job and reformat the blog. Thank you all so much for your viewings and feedback over the past 3 months. It really helps me keep going and enjoy doing it rather than playing a video game or just starting a new show. The final 2 weeks will feature content about Avatar: The Last Airbender,  as it was pointed out by my brother that I didn't have it on my list in "anime" and the season premiere of Game of Thrones . Thank you all again for visiting and I hope to have meaningful content to add over summer when everything is on hiatus.

Why Sleepy Hollow is the Best/Worst Show on Fridays

Image
We are back after Spring Break and work! Thanks for being patient everyone and settle in, and keep the light on, this one is spooky. Tom Mison and Nicole Beharie as Ichabod Crane and Abbigail Mills in Sleepy Hollow. Image: FOX Alright now this is one of those posts similar to the  Cutthroat Kitchen  post I made about a month ago expressing some bias as to why I think you should watch what I (Wood) watch. In freshman year of college,  Fringe  got cancelled by FOX and two new projects were picked up to take it's place. One was called  Almost Human,  helmed by J.J. Abrams (creator of  Fringe ), a sci-fi police drama that failed miserably    and the other was by the other creators of  Fringe   Robert Orsi and Alex Kurtzman which became  Sleepy Hollow.  The show's title however and what you expect it to be about are completely different. I will explain this further but buckle up because this isn't the story of...
